Volunteer Training and Development Level I Volunteer Under the supervision of the Volunteer Coordinator and staff, a Level I volunteer will be able to take part in any or all of the Level I positions listed below. Requirements: 16 years or older and completion of Level I training Level II Volunteer Under the supervision of the Volunteer Coordinator and staff, a Level II volunteer will be able to provide direct client services by serving as a crisis companion, and collaborating with other volunteers and staff on the development of new and/or existing programs. Level II volunteer positions are also listed below. Requirements: 18 years or older, access to a vehicle, and completion of Level II training Volunteer Positions Childcare Worker -- Level I Hotline Worker -- Level II with additional training H.U.G. (Helping Us Grow) Co-facilitator -- Level II Court Advocate -- Level II with additional training Volunteer Hospital Companion -- Level II with additional training Office Assistant -- Level I Maintenance Technician -- Level I and Basic Orientation Hotline Worker -- Level II with additional training Donation Coordinator -- Level I In addition, we invite interested persons to suggest their own job ideas to the Volunteer Coordinator, who will work with the volunteer to design a work plan that will meet the needs of both the volunteer and the agency. We want volunteers to enjoy their work and be able to learn new skills through their experience. The ultimate goal is to create a situation in which both the volunteer and the clients of New Directions Center, Inc. can benefit from the job performed. Training Times Level I trainings will consist of 2-4 hours and will be held on as-needed basis. Level II trainings will consist of 35 hours and will be held 2 times a year, the Spring and Fall.
